Product Design Intern
Coinbase
Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?
At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.
To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.
Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.
This is a 12-week internship during summer 2025.
Coinbase is seeking interns to join our Product Design team for a 12-week to understand user needs for existing products like Coinbase.com, Prime, Wallet, etc. You will contribute to unique, large scale, highly complex product problems. You will help researchers, designers, and product managers craft thoughtful experiences to help enable all people to engage with the crypto economy. You don’t need to be an expert on cryptocurrency to join us—we welcome folks at many different moments in their cryptocurrency journey. We only ask that you have a basic knowledge of cryptocurrency and Coinbase’s role in it, and an interest in learning more.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Work on a product design project with a product team and coaching from an intern manager to turn a product idea into a tangible user experience across mobile and/or web platforms.
- Engage in group Design critiques to improve and get feedback on your work.
- Apply problem-solving skills and learn new methods of design thinking and human-centered approaches to solve complex and ambiguous problems.
- Craft and prototype visually polished experiences to socialize your solutions and work closely with engineering to implement a final solution.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- Some experience using computer programs to design (like Figma or Sketch).
- Enjoy thinking about how people interact with products and building experiences that users love.
- Self-motivated and committed to personal growth.
- Approach problems with positive energy.
Nice to haves:
- Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in a design-related field or pursuing design extracurricularly while enrolled in a Bachelors program.
- Experience with or excited to learn about crypto.
