About the role:
The Sales Engineer is a vital member of the sales team, having primary responsibility for providing pre-sales technical support to prospective customers for all EasyPost products. This position will help identify key customer requirements and present EasyPost products that meet those applicable requirements. In addition, this position will collaborate directly with other business units such as implementation, support, and product to address complex technical issues.
What you will do:
o Act as a technical advisor and product expert to customers and sales teams, understanding their needs and providing suitable solutions.
o Collaborate with the sales team to identify and qualify leads, engaging in pre-sales activities such as product demonstrations, presentations, and technical discussions.
o Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations tailored to the customer’s specific requirements, highlighting key features, products, and benefits.
o Assist with creating proposals, responding to RFPs (Request for Proposals), and preparing technical documentation.
o Work closely with the engineering and product teams to communicate customer feedback, identify product improvements, and contribute to the product roadmap.
o Provide technical support throughout the sales cycle, addressing customer inquiries, conducting proof-of-concept implementations, and troubleshooting technical issues.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product management, program management, and customer success, to drive customer satisfaction and ensure successful implementations.
o Assist the Sales team with the technical aspects of utilizing EasyPost products.
o Perform technical discoveries on calls with prospective customers to gather details to fully define customer requirements and resolve pain points.
o Help to sell EasyPost products with broad understanding and knowledge of all available tools (Core API, Infoship, GlobalShip, eFORMz, Shopping Guarantee & Package Protection, and Elevate/Summit).
o Establish relationships with partners, prospects, and internal teams in support of the Sales teams objectives and engage and leverage corporate resources, abilities, budgets and personnel as appropriate.
o Address technical issues that are impeding the closing of sales opportunities.
o Work alongside the Sales team to implement and manage technical integration guides and resources.
About you:
o Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
o Previous experience in a technical sales role or relevant customer-facing position.
o Strong technical background and understand of complex technical concepts including coding (Python, C++, SQL, etc).
o Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
o Demonstrated ability to build rapport and establish relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing effective solutions.
o Self-motivated and results orientated, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
o Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits, conferences, and industry events.
