Flexport is looking for software engineers focused on site reliability engineering to help Flexport establish itself as the most trusted company in the global trade ecosystem. Our site reliability team is responsible for creating a culture of reliability through the proactive development of services that make our technology teams do their jobs better. We focus on Flexport’s internally developed, user-facing services and other production systems to ensure that they run smoothly and that we can quickly resolve disruptions.

What you’ll do:

  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation
  • Establish and maintain monitoring capabilities that track service availability, capacity, and performance
  • Develop SLOs in partnership with product and engineering teams to increase service reliability
  • Participate in the incident management program and support a blameless post-mortem culture
  • Partner with development teams to improve testing and release procedures
  • Understand the current state of the CI/CD pipelines, review and recommend the improvements
  • Advise product teams in system design, platform management, and capacity planning

What you’ll need:

  • Software development experience and proficiency in a language such as Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, or Ruby with hands-on experience debugging and optimizing code
  • Familiarity with developer tools including source code and artifacts management, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration automation with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc)
  • Hands-on experience with AWS; experience with Azure and GCP is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Knowledge of commercial or open-source infrastructure monitoring solutions
  • Experience with Linux server and container-based infrastructure
  • Experience with Kubernetes, databases, and Windows server infrastructure is a plus

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.
The US base salary range for this full-time position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.)
