The Opportunity
Flock Safety is looking for a Product Deployment Specialist to join our Product Deployment team. The Product Deployment team is composed of individuals who are results-driven, detail-oriented and combine a great work ethic with critical thinking to install products that delight our customers and drive our shift to be a multi-product company. A day in the life of this role might involve traveling to install pilot devices for a new product, providing feedback on new engineering hardware concepts, and working with the Device team to solve issues in the field.
The ideal candidate has experience as a technician in the field with a familiarity with product operations and has demonstrated excellent leadership skills. Ultimately, a top-notch Product Development Specialist should be action-oriented with strong field work and problem-solving skills.
Support key field initiatives to bring products to market
Monitor and document the status of work in the field and in the lab
Proficiency with assembly, mounting, and troubleshooting of license-plate reading cameras, video cameras, and audio devices
Work on both public and private roads, working often on equipment 10-12’ high.
Occasionally working with a bucket truck and/or ladder to work on equipment up to 30’ high
Test new apps and equipment and create detailed reports on the findings for team supervisors and other internal stakeholders
Support the Field Operations team where needed to audit, replenish and maintain our shed network to include light waste management services and small tool inventory
Provide installation pictures via Flock field app
Perform work in a safe and professional manner
Meet with customers to discuss installation options and perform site surveys
Communicate effectively with both internal teams and customers
Project coordination between end users and deployment teams
May require installing poles of varying lengths per install specifications with digging a minimum of 8” x 24” holes
The Skillset
Associate and/or bachelor degree
Prior experience with field work required and product development is a plus: construction, security systems, low voltage wiring, or similar
Outstanding project management and communication (written, verbal) skills
Ideally have experience with IP camera troubleshooting and debugging Android-based devices
Experience navigating new challenges in a high-growth company
This role requires you to be 21+ in order to rent a vehicle from preferred providers.
Willing to be trained to operate and drive a bucket truck as well as drive a Dodge Promaster 1500 or similar company vehicle
Comfortable working on and around ladders/heights
Handyman-like experience whether personally or professionally
Able to think on your feet and while using your hands
Time management and communication skills are needed to complete work efficiently and correctly the first time
Highly organized
Desire to work outdoors and comfortable working in all weather conditions
General affinity for all things tech. The kind of person that can log in to their router if necessary and effectively troubleshoot technical issues
Positive and professional demeanor
Willingness to go outside your comfort zone when the situation requires it
This role requires frequent/continuous bending, digging, reaching, climbing, squatting, sitting, standing, walking, driving, and independently lifting up to 50 lbs
Required Availability: Work hours are M-F with occasional extended hours in order to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.
Travel: Expect to be on the road up to 3 weeks a month performing activities (e.g. installation, maintenance, testing) across the US.

Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands
Constant light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
Frequently working in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

Frequent medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally working in seasonal high and low temperatures.

Occasionally working in hazardous conditions: near highways or heavy traffic.

This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired as a Product Deployment Specialist at Flock Safety.
The First 30 Days
The first 30 days are about learning the processes and procedures of the role and putting those concepts to practice with high attention to detail. At the end of 30 days, you should be able to run a variety of Flock fieldwork, complete this work in accordance with the field activity checklist, know who/where to reach out to for support and troubleshooting, and otherwise perform all functions required of the field technician role.

You’ve started to build strong and collaborative relationships across teams
You’ve completed at least 2 emerging product installs with the Product Deployment team or Field Service Supervisor
You’ve completed at least 3 one on one’s with each of our cross-functional partner teams (Field Ops, Product, Engineering)
The First 60 Days
These next thirty days will be spent focusing on building the speed necessary to execute all processes and procedures efficiently enough to handle the standard
You’re deeply ingrained into the weekly cadence and operating rhythm of the Operations teams
You’ve autonomously begun installing new products and supporting initiatives in the field
You’ve written at least 5 field plans and reports on an emerging product install and completed at least 1 training artifact (document with photos or video)
90 Days & Beyond
The final thirty days will be your opportunity to further refine and sustain this performance. While we will have feedback for you, we will also look to you to identify areas of opportunity, ask for the specific feedback that you need, and otherwise demonstrate our values during the course of your work and interaction with others.
You have built confidence cross-functionally in how we approach and solve these problems together as a team
You’ve built strong, cross-functional relationships and confidence with peers across Operations who depend on you for mission-critical support on new and existing products
You are recognized for being a leading voice on our product platforms (Condor + Falcon LR, Picard Ect.) installations around mounting and troubleshooting

💰Salary & Equity: In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $55,000 - $70,000 as well as stock options
