We are looking for a Global Payroll Lead to help build and scale the accounting function to support the increased growth of the business. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be responsible for managing all aspects of our global payroll process and operations across the United States, Ireland, France, and Chile.
The Global Payroll Lead will oversee all aspects of payroll operations, ensuring the effective management and scalability of Front’s global payroll function. You are a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of payroll systems, global payroll regulations, and the ability to lead a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You have also successfully built and led payroll teams through a period of hypergrowth, with experience covering North America, EMEA, and Latin America.
This is a hybrid role, expected to be in our San Francisco office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What will you do?
Own the timely and accurate processing of payroll while ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations.
Work hand in hand with our People team to deliver a best-in-class employee experience
Manage bi-weekly United States payrolls for exempt and non-exempt employees and monthly international payrolls
Manage monthly International payroll with external service providers, while developing a strategic game plan for bringing global payroll in-house
Improve our global payroll processes and drive ongoing improvements, focusing on compliance, efficiency, and automation
Manage and control our internal payroll data ensuring complete and accurate payrolls, payroll reports, and payroll related journal entries
Manage employee payroll queries and communication
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT departments to streamline payroll processes and implement/enhance payroll system integrations
Help to build and maintain a comprehensive policy and procedures manual for all things payroll
Be our Payroll subject matter expert!
What are we looking for?
8+ years of payroll experience at a high-growth venture-backed company, preferably in technology space
Deep knowledge of United States and International payroll compliance, including setting up new states, countries, and mobility rules
Ability research and opine on new or unique payroll issues
Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively across functions and levels throughout the company
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with big-picture strategic understanding
Last but not least, you’re enthusiastic about building great teams and have a great attitude!
Nice to haves:
Experience working with ADP Workforce Now (US), Payfit (France)
Experience running payrolls in France, Ireland, and Chile
