Role Responsibilities
- Play an ownership role in the software operations process by establishing and refining processes and best practices for deploying and maintaining production deployments
- Implement and maintain tools and processes for monitoring production system status, and establish systems to communicate relevant system health information to internal and external parties
- Measure and optimize system performance from a deployment perspective, and work with software engineers to develop and support cloud-native solutions to maximize performance
- Work with software engineers to develop and execute reliable and maintainable deployment solutions
- Provide expert operational support for cloud-based software applications
- Play a leading role in administering and maintaining production and internal Kubernetes clusters
- Be a strong advocate for security, robustness, and reliability in solution architecture discussions
About You
You are a seasoned developer with extensive experience in both developing and deploying production software systems in a cloud-based environment. You passionately advocate for and pursue solutions which promote speed, safety, and scalability. You are both a technical expert and a natural leader, who is ready to establish systems and processes to help distribute your deep technical experience to your fellow team members. You work to establish a friendly, productive, and collaborative team environment, and you fundamentally understand the complex tradeoffs between performance, reliability, and time to market. You know how to interpret requirements and requests from different types of stakeholders, and you are comfortable independently synthesizing and organizing those requirements into tangible units of work.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience with:
- Kubernetes, Helm, Docker
- AWS
- Linux/Unix Operating Systems
- Networking fundamentals (common L7 protocols, TCP/IP, VPCs, CDNs, DNS, etc)
- Databases, including common SQL and NoSQL systems
- CI/CD Pipelines
- Strong familiarity with:
- MacOS
- Python
- Agile Software Development & Kanban
- Team leadership and creating strong engineering processes and policies
- Asynchronous message queue systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc)
- Ability to quickly get up to speed with:
- Gitlab CI/CD
- ArgoCD
- AWS CDK / Infrastructure as Code
- System-level software development (C, C++, Rust, etc)
- AWS Marketplace / Well-Architected Framework
Job Location
Kayhan Space is staffing multiple new positions in the Denver, CO and Washington, DC metro areas. The company will provide a competitive relocation package for non-local candidates.

Compensation
- Total compensation for this role is base salary + company equity
- Colorado base salary range: $110,000 - $190,000
