About the Team
The Opendoor Title and Escrow Intelligent Document Processing Team is dedicated to automating the extensive data collection process related to Real Estate transactions. You will be responsible for building an industry-leading, fault-tolerant, Document Processing Engine using modern software, cloud technologies, and architectures.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the charge in writing code that adheres to the highest industry standards. Leverage your extensive programming experience to create robust, efficient, and maintainable code that meets project requirements.
- Uphold engineering excellence by advocating for and implementing best practices in software development. Take charge of code reviews, testing procedures, and quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and stability of our software products.
- Demonstrate your adeptness at driving project execution. Utilize your efficiency and precision to spearhead the timely delivery of solutions that align with project goals. Strive for high-throughput delivery without compromising quality.
- Collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to grasp their requirements and expectations. Translate technical concepts into understandable terms and ensure the final product aligns with the intended business outcomes.
- Act as a mentor and guide for junior engineers, offering technical insights, removing obstacles, and fostering their professional growth. Your expertise will empower them to overcome challenges and excel in their roles.
- Employ your strong communication skills to thoroughly document technical tasks, integrations, and system architectures. Clear and comprehensive documentation will facilitate seamless collaboration among team members and aid in knowledge transfer.
Skills Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience
- 5+ years of track record in building and delivering production quality software systems
- Excellent coding skills, strong debugging skills and knowledge of computer architectures, operating systems and algorithms
- Depth and breadth in multiple technologies ranging from frontend user interfaces to backend services to databases
- Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and proven track record of using metrics to drive decisions
- A sense of ownership and a passion for delighting customers through innovation and creative solutions to sophisticated problems
