About The Role
As a Staff Software Engineer at Orderful, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our platform. Our systems handle millions of critical EDI transactions every month, and a single error can lead to significant business impact, with tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise potentially going undelivered. As our transaction volume grows, maintaining accuracy, scalability, and reliability is paramount. You’ll lead complex projects and help guide the future of our technology to support this growth.

Your Experience Includes
The Pay Range For This Role Is
165,000 - 225,000 USD per year(Remote - United States)
160,000 - 230,000 CAD per year(Remote - Canada)

About The Role

- Design & Lead: Architect and deploy scalable systems that power our core platform.
- Collaborate & Innovate: Work with cross-functional teams to solve challenging problems and drive technical decisions that align with our business goals.
- Oversee & Deliver: Oversee project timelines, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- Mentor & Share: Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and growth by mentoring engineers and promoting best practices.
- Optimize for Success: Ensure our systems meet high standards for performance, security, and reliability.
- Contribute to Strategy: Help shape our long-term technical roadmap, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Your Experience Includes
- Expert Knowledge: Node.js, React, JavaScript & TypeScript, API & microservice development.
- Database Skills: Proficiency with both relational and non-relational databases.
- System Design: Experience with distributed systems and messaging/event systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Software Quality: Strong understanding of testing, CI/CD, and documentation best practices.
- Nice-to-Haves: Familiarity with NestJS, Nx, AWS, or even better—experience with EDI.
