The Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Team Lead to oversee and guide our Vendor Onboarding and Retention operations. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in payment processing and vendor engagement who is ready to step into a leadership role. You will be responsible for driving successful onboarding outcomes, improving vendor retention, ensuring timely execution of vCard payments, and leading a team of specialists in delivering a seamless experience for vendors transitioning to our vCard payment platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Operations Oversight:
- Supervise and support a team of Vendor Onboarding & Retention Specialists to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate onboarding, payment, and retention activities.
- Monitor daily workflow, prioritize escalations, and ensure SLA adherence.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify areas for improvement.
Vendor Onboarding Strategy & Execution:
- Oversee the onboarding process for new vendors onto the vCard payment platform.
- Ensure timely verification of vendor compatibility through initial onboarding payments.
- Guide the resolution of onboarding issues (e.g., unreachability, or acceptance challenges).
- Drive improvements in remit data accuracy (emails, phone numbers, etc.) and coordinate updates.
Retention & Optimization:
- Lead vendor retention initiatives by proactively identifying churn risks and working with the team to address them.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve vendor pain points related to vCard acceptance or fees.
- Ensure the quality and reliability of vCard acceptors by monitoring performance and investigating vendor-side blockers or limitations.
- Lead efforts to negotiate vCard acceptance with vendors facing adoption challenges, leveraging relationship management and strategic communication to drive successful outcomes.
- Drive efforts to transition phone-based vendors to more scalable payment methods (email or portal).
Process Improvement & Reporting:
- Track onboarding/retention metrics and report performance insights to leadership.
- Identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with product, payment operations, and vendor outreach teams to enhance the onboarding journey.
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience in payment processing, vendor onboarding, or retention roles, with at least 1 year in a mentorship or team coordination capacity.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
