The Role

We’re looking for a business-oriented data scientist to help accelerate our growth and product initiatives. Your work will span across the entire organization and have company-wide impact, informing (and generating) our most important projects. We've already built out our core data infrastructure, so you'll get dive in immediately on high-priority projects instead of spending time on building pipelines and data cleanup.

We're an NY- and LA-based team with a hybrid in-person model, in the office 3 days a week. Our data stack is Amplitude, Hex (SQL, Python), and Javascript (not required).

In this role, you will:

Work directly with the CEO, CTO, and Head of Business & Product Operations
Analyze large and complex datasets to derive actionable insights
Provide data-driven recommendations and run experiments to support product development, user engagement strategies, and business growth
Design, build, and deploy data assets and machine learning models to improve our user experience
Continuously monitor and improve the performance of assets and models to ensure they deliver accurate and relevant results
Identify opportunities to improve our data infrastructure, processes, and tooling
Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure data quality and integrity
Work closely with Product Engineering, Business Operations, and Community teams to understand their data needs and provide analytical support
Make key data decisions across the company

You’re likely a good fit if you:

Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
Have 3+ years of experience in data science or a related role (ideally at both startups and larger companies), staying long enough to see the impact of your analytical decisions
Are proficient in SQL and Python (Javascript a plus)
Have experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries
Are familiar with data tools such as Amplitude and Hex
Have experience using data to drive business decisions
Communicate complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders
Work collaboratively with other data
Elegantly structure and decomp complex data problems
Are comfortable with ambiguity
Generate quick yet thoughtful solutions when faced with constraints
Put ego aside when making decisions
Bonus points if you have full-stack engineering experience -- we'd love to see you building user-facing features around your work!
