About the role

Join us as our Senior Engineering Manager for Global Payroll in Europe and take the lead in shaping the future of a billion dollar vertical. You'll have the exciting challenge of launching and growing our largest markets in Europe, with the freedom and responsibility to build a world-class team from the ground up. You'll define, drive, and execute the technical roadmap, and be the lead on hiring and retaining top talent to make Europe a hub for innovation and excellence. Interesting problems this team will work on:

  • Work on difficult technical problems like implementing an S-expression based country-agnostic calculator used for millions of calculations per second

  • Double the size of the European team while ensuring our high quality bar is maintained.

  • Build the culture of the Global Payroll European office from the ground floor.

What you will do
  • Be responsible for growing and developing a team of hardworking and motivated engineers

  • Set the direction for the team and products, create a strategy, and lead its execution.

  • Collaborate with the sales, product, support, and operations teams to prioritize growing our team.

What you will need
  • 7+ years of software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team as a manager, including managing managers/larger teams
  • Hands-on development experience using Python, Django, MongoDB, React, AWS
  • Experience working at a high growth startup
  • Being excited about building a team and culture at a foundational level!
