About the role:

Zepz Operations team is undergoing a digital transformation, and you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery and implementation of 3 strategic initiatives- CRM and the ‘Zepz back office’, Chat and IVR. We would like someone who has prior experience of implementing digital transformation initiatives for contact centre technologies. You should have experience and expertise in contact centre technologies (minimally including IVR, CRM, and chat solutions). You will be joining a newly built team which aims to implement, maintain and improve a new Contact Center platform based on AWS services which allows Customer Care teams to support our customers, resolve their inquiries, and provide clear and accurate information on the status of their issues. The platform will utilize integrations, AI services and process orchestrations to build automatic case recognition and resolution processes whenever possible and fall to human driven tasks only when necessary. As such we count on your skills and experience in areas of broadly understood automation: AI, APIs, Chatbots and similar technologies, and great ideas on how we can use them on our CRM, IVR and Chatbot solutions to minimize manual work of our agents. Being hands-on architect you will design and spike new solutions, implement most advanced parts of the system on code and configuration level, guide more junior developers in daily tasks allowing them to work with AWS services successfully. As a member of WorldRemit’s Engineering team you will aim high, embrace challenges and always do what’s right; acting with integrity and building trust as you contribute to the company’s technical direction and long term decision making.

What you will own:

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Design and influence technology evolution. We are designing new platform with long term goals in mind and are also happy to improve with new technology capabilities
  • Write great code. We understand code is read more than it’s written, better off tested and maintainability is a must.
  • Shape what we build. You’ll be defining what and how we build to meet our OKRs and Customer Care needs.
  • Own delivery. We’re obsessed with shipping value; you’ll own work beyond just a pull request. You’ll care about bugs, scalability, uptime and other non-functional requirements.
  • Growing together. You’ll review others' work and happily seek feedback on yours to ensure we build a better codebase and sharpen each other's skills.
  • Share your knowledge and points of view. We promote knowledge sharing across our Chapters and as such count on you to become an active member of one. Experiment with new tools, present your findings, shape our future standards.

What you bring to the table:

  • Extensive experience of customizing solutions based on AWS Cases and AWS Connect services
  • Experience building chatbot solutions using AWS Lex,
  • AWS services in Contact Center, AI and Chat spaces. Ideally backed up with certificates in these areas.
  • Hands-on coding experience (any language)
  • Experience of building and consuming APIs using AWS Lambdas
  • Experience working with REST, gRPC and GraphQL APIs
  • Bias for action. You see a problem, you fix a problem. You get buy-in for your solutions and keep tickets moving. We’re always looking for ways to ship at pace.

Bonus points if you:

  • CI/CD and IaaC tooling experience: Jenkins, Terraform, ArgoCD and CloudFormation
  • Experience with Relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience leading team in a technical manner
