About Us

Pursuit of truth in credit.

By using machine learning to anticipate and manage risk in credit, we’re empowering our partners and lenders to unlock opportunity and access for more borrowers, everywhere.

We strive to be the preferred partner to lending platforms, providing not only access to capital but also underwriting technology capabilities to allow innovative lending platforms to grow their business.

Our firm is made up of 60+ professionals working in San Mateo (HQ) and New York, working in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are passionate, hard-working, relentlessly-resourceful, impact-focused individuals. We deeply value intellectual curiosity, independence of thought, creative idea generation, empathy, and close collaboration.

What You’ll Do:

As a member of the FinOps team, this role will enable the firm's growth by providing critical operational support specifically for Theorem’s platform partnerships strategy as well as Theorem funds’ operations. The role is an intriguing and unique combination of working at the top of the funnel — partnerships onboarding — and the bottom of the funnel, trade operations and execution.

Responsibilities:

Liquidity Management

  • Manage day-to-day fund-level liquidity to ensure platform purchasing accounts hold sufficient funds to met all purchasing requirements.
  • Produce and update liquidity projections for all internally managed funds based on input / initiatives from Capital Markets, Investor Relations, and Finance.
  • Track warehouse facility utilization rates, experimental budgets, steady state deployment, and weekly deployment.
  • Present liquidity reports to the Investment Committee on a monthly basis.

Trade Operations & Reporting

  • Successfully execute and settle secondary market transactions, which are opportunistic loan purchases and ABS deals that occur throughout the year. *
    • Project management leadership, coordinating internal colleagues as well as third-party vendors — e.g., lenders, data agent, valuation provider, general counsel, ranging from 1 - 10 counterparties depending on the transaction
    • Ownership of secondary market transactions reporting and operations, including creation of a trade ticket
  • Own daily trade operations — e.g., allocation splits, cash inflow/outflow timing
  • Serve as the go-to contact for our custodians and brokers
  • Creation and onboarding of new accounts for platforms, trustees, and/or brokers
    • Completion of KYC and all due diligence processes and forms
    • Correct flow of P&I collections to the relevant trust accounts
  • Fund-level reporting
    • Ownership of consolidated monthly master ABS file to support NAV closing and internal reporting to the Investment Committee
    • Assist in weekly and monthly FinOps reporting — e.g., weekly deployment

New Platform Onboarding Operations

  • Project management leadership for platform onboarding operations
    • Deliver negotiated operationally and mutually viable purchasing logistics with each platform
    • Deliver negotiated reporting terms and conditions to ensure fund administrators and custodians have the necessary data points for daily and monthly reporting
    • Creation and onboarding of new accounts for platforms and originators
      • Completion of KYC and all due diligence processes and forms
      • Correct flow of P&I collections
    • Ownership and delivery of end-to-end wire testing prior to platform purchasing
    • Ensure fund allocation splits are confirmed with the platforms after having been reviewed and confirmed by Investment Committee

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in finance
  • A minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in a finance and operational field
  • Strong project management skills combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, number-savvy
  • Ability to juggle several deliverables and deadlines on a weekly and monthly basis
  • A passion for problem-solving and tackling new challenges
  • Demonstrated history of self-directed project execution and delivery
  • Motivated by a desire to learn and make a significant impact
  • Excel competence, familiarity with any project management tool
  • Understanding of marketplace lending / unsecured consumer loans is a nice to have
  • Familiarity with ABS and credit structures is a plus

Additional Information:

  • Expected full-time salary range between $100,000 to $130,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
  • Advertised and actual salary ranges may differ by geographic area, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
